Ken Darby (May 13, 1909 - January 24, 1992) was an American Academy Award and Grammy Award winning composer, vocal arranger, and conductor. He has shared in winning an Oscar three times and was nominated for three others.

For many years Samohi borrowed On Wisconsin as their fight song.
The joke was to call it On WisMonica.
For the 2000 school year, Dr. Hammer, the assistant band director, and class of1984, wrote Samohi's own fight song. For a school with it's own Alma Mater, and with such a long history, many felt it was time for Samohi to have it's own fight song. Vikings Bold became the new fight song for the new century.
