The 100th Santa Monica High School
Viking Marching Band!

Performing all over Southern California, the 2014-2015 Santa Monica High School Viking Marching Band paid tribute to the history of the City of Santa Monica. The field show took inspiration from the 1914 Vanderbilt Cup - held on the city streets of Santa Monica, as well as the silent film Mabel At The Wheel - starring Mabel Normand and a new actor - Charlie Chaplin. That film was one of Charlie's first films, and included footage from the actual 1914 Vanderbilt Cup. The music for the show included popular songs from 1914, as well as Smile - by Charlie Chaplin.

Sporting brand new uniforms, the band won awards throughout the season and advanced to the SCSBOA Championships. They were warmly received by audiences and adjudicators - and put on memorable, effective and inspirational performances all season long.
